SENIOR BUYER

Location : East Midlands, UK

Contract duration : 6-month contract

We are currently looking for a Senior Buyer who will be involved in all aspects of Supply Chain Contracts negotiation and management. This will be on a contract basis for an initial 3–6-month period. This position would be hybrid, 3 days in the office and 2 from home and we can cater for both PAYE and LTD contractors.

Role & Responsibilities

  • To drive procurement processes for assigned categories (both direct and indirect) for the Supply Chain.
  • The Senior Buyer will be responsible for the procurement process for their assigned categories ensuring NDA coverage, Request for Quotation activity, supplier assessment, preparing recommendation documentation to link into the Sourcing Review Board, reviewing & negotiating terms and conditions, executing contracts, issuing PO’s and managing contracts post contract from a Commercial perspective.
  • All actions to be in line with guidance from Head of Procurement and Chief Legal Officer or others as required.
  • To drive contractual improvements and supplier improvements to de-risk and benefit the company with the end of goal of delivering product to cost and specification and timescale as required by the business.
  • Provide input into functional improvements for the benefit of the company and the function.
  • To deputise and cover for Head of Procurement as required.
  • To provide guidance and coaching as required to more junior members of the team as the team expands.

Role requirements

  • Commercial experience in both contract terms, drafting, negotiating and execution within defined processes.
  • Able to review terms and conditions from various categories quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to learn and be flexible across various requirements and categories, including where personal experience is lacking.
  • Able to analyse various, differing inputs to assess suppliers, terms, conditions or other inputs from suppliers and customers.  Able to then articulate clearly recommendations from these various inputs.
  • Competent in Word.  At least basic competency in Excel and other Microsoft Office software.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and coaching skills.
