A specialist alternative provision in Wellingborough is looking for compassionate, committed, and confident SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team this September. This school provides vital support for students aged 11-16 who have been permanently excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education.
This is more than a classroom role-it's an opportunity to be a mentor, a motivator, and a source of stability for students navigating significant challenges.
Your Role Will Involve :
Supporting learners on a 1 : 1 basis or in small groups with a focus on Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Helping students to re-engage with education through patience, structure, and consistency
Collaborating with teachers and behaviour mentors to deliver bespoke interventions
Promoting positive behaviour through de-escalation and relationship building
Encouraging resilience, emotional regulation, and self-confidence in each pupil
Contributing to a therapeutic and inclusive learning environment where every child feels safe and valued
