Specialist Teaching Assistant – Part-Time (Mornings Only)

Location : Central Exeter Area to start ASAP (supporting pupil in Year 5)

Agency : Teaching Personnel

Contract Type : Part-Time | Mornings Only (Monday–Friday)

Teaching Personnel is seeking a compassionate and skilled Specialist Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with communication and interaction needs in a local primary school. This is a part-time role , working mornings only, five days a week , ideal for someone with experience in SEND and a passion for inclusive education.

Role Overview :

  • Provide tailored 1 : 1 support to a pupil with communication and interaction difficulties
  • Implement strategies to aid engagement, understanding, and social development
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment
  • Monitor progress and contribute to regular reviews and reports

Requirements :

  • Experience supporting a child with SEND, particularly communication and interaction needs & SEMH.
  • Strong understanding of autism, speech and language difficulties, or similar needs
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEND support (desirable)
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain)

    All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
