Job description

Are you a highly organised professional who thrives on keeping complex projects moving?

Do you want to play a pivotal role in a multidisciplinary team where your coordination skills directly impact the delivery of essential water infrastructure?

As our Engineering Coordinator, you’ll be the key link between our internal teams and external contractors. It’s a busy role focused on making sure our engineering processes run smoothly and stay on schedule. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in the details. If you’re an experienced professional looking for a stable role with a clear purpose, you’ll find plenty of space here to apply your expertise and improve how we work. Essentially, you’ll provide the technical administration and performance tracking that keeps our operations moving forward.

Main Responsibilities

You’ll be the central point of coordination, keeping our projects on track and our stakeholders informed. Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Managing the Flow: You'll oversee reporting processes and act as the primary liaison with contractors to ensure inspection reports and project data meet our high-quality standards.
  • Data Integrity: Checking and reviewing reports for accuracy, ensuring everything is in the right format before it hits our Assets Department.
  • System Ownership: You’ll become our 'Maximo' go-to person, issuing work instruction numbers and managing documentation through QPulse and Think Project CDE.
  • Stakeholder Magic: You’ll coordinate between engineering staff and various stakeholders to ensure deadlines are met and everyone is working to the agreed operational procedures.
  • Project Tracking: Creating and managing complex spreadsheets to track progress, as well as maintaining our Commitments Database.
  • Community Engagement: Organising essential letter drop campaigns to keep our customers informed about the engineering work happening in their area.
  • Reporting: Creating project performance and management reports that give us the big picture.
  • Contribute to a developing role by supporting evolving departmental needs, including specification change management, the refinement of internal standards and procedures, and the facilitation of internal audits and induction processes.

What you'll need

  • Solid Foundations: GCSEs (grades A-C/4-9) or equivalent in both Numeracy and Literacy.
  • Technical Savvy: Excellent IT, analytical, and numerical skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly. Experience with Google Workspace would be an advantage.
  • Industry Insight: Prior experience working within a utility business or the construction industry.
  • Team Spirit: The ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, with the confidence to influence stakeholders.
  • Mobility: A full driving licence is essential, as you will need to attend various project and operational meetings.

We want to be the water company people want to be supplied by and want to work for.

We know the communities we serve are diverse. We recognise creativity comes from diversity not similarity. That’s why we are enthusiastic about creating inclusion across age, race, gender, ethnicity, religion and identity. You will experience our dedication to equal opportunities and fair treatment for all: through your recruitment, employment and career progression with South East Water.

Benefits package

  • Excellent Stakeholder pension scheme, up to 10% employer contribution.
  • 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays per annum, increasing to 6 weeks with length of service.
  • Flexible annual leave policy to buy or sell holiday leave.
  • Cycle to work scheme.
  • Health cash plan.
  • Life assurance.
  • Wellbeing related benefits.

What can you expect from your recruitment?

  • To apply for this position, please submit your CV on our career’s website.
  • It is necessary for you to have the legal right to work in the UK when you begin employment with South East Water.
  • Additionally, as part of the employment offer, you will need to pass background, identity, and employment referencing checks.

If this sounds like the opportunity you’ve been looking for, apply now!

South East Water kindly asks that recruitment agencies refrain from submitting CVs to our employees or associates without explicit invitation from our HR Resourcing team. CVs sent on a speculative basis will not be acknowledged and will not assume any responsibility for fees or commissions in the event that we hire a candidate who applied directly or subsequently introduced by an instructed agency.

Compensation package

Up to £28,000 p.a. dependent on experience
