Senior Designers at Remote are highly experienced and command masterful end‑to‑end autonomously own design for a development team or feature area while being supported by a larger, collaborative team.
The payroll team builds experiences that empower our customers to pay anyone, anywhere safely and compliantly. This is one of our most strategically important and high‑profile teams. You will be challenged with fascinating, complex, and meaty challenges requiring primary research, robust strategy, innovative concepts, and simple yet brilliant execution.
You'll work with a thriving cross‑discipline team of designers, developers, and PMs, and a close‑knit community of product designers who will inspire you and support your growth.
What you bring
- An individual contributor with an impressive portfolio of product design work demonstrating maturity across the end‑to‑end design process, with ability to identify problems, solve them, and deliver delightful, well‑crafted user interfaces that impact users.
- Persuasive communication skills to build strong narratives around design work, give direction and guidance to others, and collaborate effectively with peers and stakeholders; fluent in written and spoken English.
- A systems thinker who champions holistic thinking, thrives in a high‑growth, fast‑paced environment, and is experienced in owning design for complex domains or multiple projects.
- Strong evidence of effective cross‑functional collaboration with product and engineering counterparts building consensus, resolving debates, and driving impactful outcomes.
- An engaged design organization member focused on delivering quality user experiences and shaping design culture and ways of working.
- Preference for candidates with experience designing complex B2B SaaS solutions for industries such as HRTech, FinTech, etc.
- Candidates who embody and demonstrate Remote’s core values.
- Experience working remotely is a plus, but not required.
Key responsibilities
Influence strategy for your product team, identifying opportunities for impact with stakeholders and cross‑functional peers.Apply the right research methodology at the right time to empathise with customer challenges and develop intimate knowledge of the problem.Leverage AI prototyping to explore conceptual ideas, iterate with peers, and bring ideas to life with functional flows.Craft high‑fidelity user interfaces at velocity, expressing interaction design mastery while maintaining exceptional quality.Lead compelling vision initiatives, influence and visualise direction and innovation opportunities.Solve problems holistically with systems‑thinking, ensuring scalability, and preventing unnecessary variation.Communicate persuasively, weaving storytelling around your work and efficiently triaging critique and feedback.Collaborate transparently, proactively sharing work with the wider organisation for frequent feedback and cross‑domain opportunities.Advocate optimal use of the design system Norma, understanding when to follow, deviate, improve, and contribute back.Champion experience principles—simplicity, usability, scalability, and accessibility—in all user experiences.Be an active member of the cross‑functional culture, advocating quality, shaping ways of working, and providing peer support.Practicals

Remote’s Total philosophy ensures fair, unbiased compensation and equity pay across all operating locations. We pay above in‑location rates to discourage cheap‑labor practices and inspire other companies to support global talent hiring.
The base salary range for this full‑time position is USD 56,300 to USD 126,700, adjusted for role, level, location, and individual factors. Salary ranges may be subject to change.
