Job Advert – Full-Time Attendance Officer

Location : Amble, Northumberland

Start Date : ASAP

Contract : Full-Time, Ongoing

Salary : Competitive, dependent on experience

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in Amble to recruit a proactive and organised Attendance Officer to join their team before October half term.

This is a key role within the school, focused on improving pupil attendance and punctuality, working closely with staff, pupils, and families to support student engagement and achievement.

The Role :

  • Monitoring daily student attendance and punctuality.
  • Maintaining accurate records and producing reports for senior staff.
  • Liaising with parents / carers to follow up on absences.
  • Working with pastoral teams and external agencies to address attendance concerns.
  • Supporting the school’s safeguarding procedures and promoting a culture of high expectations.

The Ideal Candidate :

  • Experience working in a school office or administrative role (attendance experience desirable).
  • Strong IT skills, with the ability to use school MIS systems effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families, and staff.
  • A proactive, organised, and solution-focused approach.
