Job Advert – Full-Time Attendance Officer

Location : Amble, Northumberland

Start Date : ASAP

Contract : Full-Time, Ongoing

Salary : Competitive, dependent on experience

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in Amble to recruit a proactive and organised Attendance Officer to join their team before October half term.

This is a key role within the school, focused on improving pupil attendance and punctuality, working closely with staff, pupils, and families to support student engagement and achievement.

The Role :

Monitoring daily student attendance and punctuality.
Maintaining accurate records and producing reports for senior staff.
Liaising with parents / carers to follow up on absences.
Working with pastoral teams and external agencies to address attendance concerns.
Supporting the school’s safeguarding procedures and promoting a culture of high expectations.

The Ideal Candidate :

Experience working in a school office or administrative role (attendance experience desirable).

Strong IT skills, with the ability to use school MIS systems effectively.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families, and staff.

A proactive, organised, and solution-focused approach.
