Project Quantity Surveyor - Tier 1 Main Contractor

Location : London

The Opportunity

We are recruiting for a Project Quantity Surveyor to join a Tier 1 main contractor within their UK South Construction business unit in London. This role will be based on an upcoming commercial scheme involving a large cut & carve, offering the chance to work alongside an extensively experienced commercial team. You will play a key part in delivering a successful project while maintaining strong relationships, maximising commercial returns, and effectively managing risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing tenders, analysing and selecting appropriate subcontractors, negotiating and finalising subcontract orders.
  • Financial and commercial management of subcontractors through to Final Account completion.
  • Managing and reporting forecasts, targets, reconciliations, site records, document control, variation reporting, and valuations.
  • Liaising with and commercially influencing / challenging the site management team while protecting the company's commercial and contractual entitlement.
  • Managing and overseeing Assistant Quantity Surveyors / Trainee Quantity Surveyors, checking and signing off SMM / measurement issues.

About You

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor on residential or commercial construction projects.
  • Minimum 3+ years' experience in report writing, forecast planning, and engaging with clients and senior leaders.
