Project Details
The MEP Quantity Surveyor will report to the MEP Area Commercial Manager for Central Area, who in turn reports to the Senior Commercial MEP Manager.
This role is responsible for providing accurate and value-generating input to projects, ensuring that all commercial aspects are managed in accordance with the contract, company policies, and procedures.
The Quantity Surveyor may work independently or under the direction of a Senior Quantity Surveyor.
The location is split between North Acton and West Ruislip portal. 4 days in the office and 1 day working from home.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Main Contract management and administration
- Supply chain management (including supply chain contract administration)
- Commercial document control
- Cost capture and control
- Commercial Reporting
- Planning & programme management
- Change Control
- Measurement
- Project metrics reporting
- Assisting with cash management.
- Liaison and negotiation with the Customer’s commercial and / or project team.
- Establishing and maintaining productive and collaborative relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders
- Assisting the Commercial Manager in ensuring the necessary internal and external periodic valuations and reports are prepared and issued in line with deadlines
- Ensure appropriate commercial records are maintained in line with the contract requirements and oversee any contractual issues.

3 years working experience as a Quantity SurveyorExperience managing MEP, Buildings or Design packagesProven financial and commercial acumenExceptional organizational and communication skillsPractical, logical, and methodical work approachCreative and innovative problem-solving abilitiesExperience in setting up and managing office systems, including filing and document controlProficient in technical minute-taking during contractual meetings, with the ability to collate information and prepare reportsSkilled in drafting contractual correspondence for the Project Manager and preparing payment certificates and interim financial reportsExperience in contributing to procurement and contract strategiesStrong negotiation and team-working skills, with the ability to motivate and leadExcellent analytical skillsSolid understanding of legal, contractual, and construction principlesConfident with the ability to assert influence effectivelyQualifications / Educational Requirements
RICS accredited degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualificationEmploying Company Overview and Profile
The successful MEP Quantity Surveyor candidate will join an established main contractor on the iconic HS2 project. This leading joint venture consortium JV is delivering a major portion of the tunnelling across London for High Speed 2 (HS2).
The value of the project is around £ 2 billion with the works due for completion in around 2025.
