Job Title : Full-Time SEN Teaching AssistantLocation : Leicester, LE4Working Hours : 8 : 00 AM - 3 : 45 PM, Monday to FridayContract : Temporary to PermanentAbout the Role : We are seeking a compassionate and resilient Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our specialists schools in Leicester. This role is designed for someone who is committed to providing consistent support to students with special educational needs (SEN), including those displaying challenging behaviours. The ideal candidate will be full of patience, resilience, and a strong sense of commitment to helping our students thrive, both academically and personally.Key Responsibilities : Provide daily, consistent support to students with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met and helping them engage with their learningWork closely with teachers and support staff to implement tailored learning plans and adjust strategies to suit each student's unique needsSupport students with challenging behaviours, using positive behaviour strategies to manage and de-escalate situations effectivelyBuild strong, trusting relationships with students, offering encouragement and helping them build resilience and confidenceMonitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to ongoing assessmentsAssist with behavioural support strategies to help students manage their emotions, impulses, and social interactions in a safe and productive wayAbout You : A resilient and calm approach, with the ability to stay composed and positive when managing challenging behavioursExperience working with students with SEN, including those who may demonstrate challenging behaviours, is desirable but not essentialA genuine commitment to working full-time, building meaningful relationships, and offering consistent support to studentsPatience, empathy, and flexibility in adapting to the needs of individual students, including those who may struggle with emotional or social difficultiesA proactive attitude, eager to take on new challenges and make a lasting difference in the lives of students
