Functional Safety Engineer (Contract – Outside IR35)

Location : Warwickshire

Rate : Open to discussion

We are looking for an experienced Functional Safety Engineer to support a confidential engineering project on a contract basis. This role is outside IR35 and offers flexibility on rate for the right individual.

The Role

Lead and support functional safety activities across the full development lifecycle
Conduct hazard analysis, risk assessment, FMEA, and FTA
Define and manage safety requirements and traceability
Work with cross-functional teams to embed safety into hardware, software, and systems design
Support testing, validation, and preparation of safety cases

About You

Proven experience in functional safety engineering within an OEM, Tier 1, or complex systems environment

Strong knowledge of ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or similar safety standards

Hands-on experience with safety analysis methods and tools

Confident communicator, able to work effectively with design, systems, and validation teams...
