Year 2 Teacher – Lincoln

We are seeking a nurturing enthusiastic and dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Lincoln starting as soon as possible. This is a wonderful opportunity for a teacher who enjoys Key Stage 1 and is passionate about supporting pupils as they consolidate early learning and prepare for the transition into Key Stage 2.

Staff work collaboratively to create a structured engaging and supportive classroom environment where pupils are encouraged to develop confidence resilience and a love of learning. As the Year 2 Teacher you will be responsible for delivering a broad and balanced curriculum supporting pupils academically socially and emotionally. You will help pupils achieve key stage milestones while fostering independence and a growth mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan deliver and assess engaging lessons across the Year 2 curriculum

• Create a structured positive and inclusive classroom environment

• Use assessment to track progress and inform planning and interventions

• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils including SEND and EAL

• Promote positive behaviour independence and a love of learning

• Prepare pupils for end-of-Key Stage 1 assessments in a supportive way

• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants colleagues and senior leaders

• Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress

• Contribute to staff meetings CPD and whole-school initiatives

• Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Have experience teaching in Key Stage 1 ideally Year 2

• Demonstrate strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and assessment requirements

• Be organised enthusiastic and proactive

• Have excellent classroom management and communication skills

• Be reflective adaptable and committed to professional development

• Show a strong commitment to inclusion safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
