The Opportunity

Are you a driven and experienced engineering professional ready to take the next step in your career? Walker and Son, part of the Samworth Brothers Group, is seeking a Site Services Manager to lead and develop our site services and bakery maintenance operations.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for cascading the engineering strategy, managing capital projects, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement across our engineering function. You will lead a team of skilled engineers and apprentices, fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and collaboration.

• Lead site services and bakery maintenance operations, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum compliance.
• Develop and manage strategic engineering plans aligned with Manufacturing Excellence.
• Oversee capital projects, budgets, and contractor management.
• Champion food safety, health & safety, and environmental standards.
• Coach and mentor your team, driving performance and development.
• Deputise for the Engineering Manager when required, supporting operational continuity.

The Ideal Candidate

• Degree/HND/NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• NEBOSH/IOSH certification essential; BOAS and Electrical Duty Holder training desirable.
• Proven experience in site services management, ideally within food manufacturing.
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• A proactive, collaborative mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
