This is a new Permanent job vacancy, and we are keen to speak with Shift Leaders, Team Leaders, Supervisors, who have worked in an Engineering or Manufacturing environment
As the Assistant Department Manager , you will be working as part of the performance management team.
This is a varied role which involves day to day management and planning of the production team across 2 shifts. Ensuring parts are produced on time and to the required quality standard whilst maintaining all health and safety requirements.
- Ensure regulations and recommendations are adhered to and a safe working environment is maintained at all times whilst being a lead member of the fire / spillage team.
- Lead, direct, and focus the efforts of the team whereby product is manufactured effectively and efficiently
- Identify and implement countermeasures when deviations to plans occur in a timely manner.
- Reviewing departmental KPI’s on a regular basis with the focus of improving productivity / efficiency in a proactive manner.
- Lead and manage department meetings including continuous improvement activities and project plans.
- Take a lead role outside of office hours and in the absence on the department manager.
- Lead cross department teams to focus on continuous improvement activities.
- Engaging and motivating Team-Members through positive, effective, and timely communication, including performance management meetings.
- Periodically reviewing department and team-members strengths / weaknesses, in an effort to identify development opportunities / skills gaps.
- Identifying the necessary human and material resources to meet departmental and business objectives.
To be considered for the role of Assistant Department Manager :
You will hold a management qualification.Experience of managing teams within a manufacturing environment. Up to 60 staffDependable, responsible contributor who’s committed to excellence and success.Good interpersonal skills, (team-worker / communicator).Target orientated.Man-management skills.Quality & Health and safety focused.Forward thinking.Organisational skills.Computer Literate (Microsoft office competent)NVQ or higher in Engineering manufacture or equivalent / Advanced Modern Apprenticeship- AdvantageousProject management qualification / experience- AdvantageousWorking hours, rotating shift
Monday to Friday 6am to 1 : 35pm rotating with Monday to Friday
Overtime will be available on occasion
