Overview
Acute and Chronic Pain Clinical Nurse Specialist role at Dartford & Gravesham NHS Trust. We are seeking an experienced and motivated nurse with extensive acute and chronic pain experience to join and lead a committed and well-established specialist pain management team.
Responsibilities
- Independently review, assess and initiate treatments for patients within the hospital who are experiencing unresolved pain once their analgesia has been optimised (adult patients in the setting).
- Escalate concerns to the relevant medical staff and act accordingly; educate and reassure patients and their visitors.
- Collaborate with the anaesthetic team when required.
- Follow up patients in an outpatient setting referred by the Chronic Pain Consultant, including NICE-approved therapies such as group and one-to-one education sessions, acupuncture and medication cleansing and optimisation, autonomously and within the MDT setting.
- Work autonomously and in an extended multidisciplinary team; lead and develop the pain team; demonstrate effective communication, leadership and motivational skills.
- Ensure local guidelines are accurate and up to date, revising as needed; lead on new projects under the guidance of the anaesthetist.
- Travel between sites as required; flexible working hours to meet service demands.
Qualifications / Requirements
Experienced and motivated nurse with extensive acute and chronic pain experience.Ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team.Strong leadership, communication and educational skills.Must have valid right to work in the UK at the time of applying.This position will not be supported for visa sponsorship.Additional Information
