Family Support WorkerCardiff3 months initially Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm, 37 hrs / week Our client are seeking a Family Support Worker to join their Interventions Hub and Support for Families Team based in Cardiff. Deliver services that enable parents with children who are identified to be in need, to build on their capacity and enhance and promote their child's health and development Carry out direct work, group work, and family work, based in the family homes or in the community Contribute towards core assessments in partnership with other service areas and agencies to identify children’s strengths and needs Participate in a multi-agency approach in identifying those children who are in need of protection or at risk of significant harm Coordinate, plan, record and review individual service plans for children Develop programmes of intervention with families on specific problems or behaviours that effect change Transportation of children and families where necessary Facilitate the delivery of documents to families Be a point of contact with professionals and appropriately manage telephone, emails and other methods of communication Keep and maintain accurate records and reports Attend meetings, reviews and conferences where necessary Requirements Full UK Driving Licence, access to a vehicle, business insurance Experience of working with vulnerable children, young people and their families Committed to working with families to enhance parenting capacity and improve the life chances of children and young people Knowledge of observation, planning and assessment processes Knowledge and understanding of the 1989 Children Act and the Social Services and Well-being Act (Wales) 2014 Self-motivated, well organised and able to work as part of a team as well as independently Enhanced DBS registered to the update service Recruitment is done in line with safe recruitment practices. 4Recruitment Services in an equal opportunities employer.
