Family Hubs are part of Kent County Councils offer to support to children and young people, aged 0-19 (25 SEND), and their families.
Our local Family Hubs offer a broad and integrated range of early help services for families, which include midwifery, health visiting, parenting support and activities for children and young people.
We have 56 Family Hubs across Kent, where we operate alongside our partners to support local communities.
Job Purpose :
To operate as a Family Hub Support Worker within the Family Hub team in an agile fashion at a variety of outreach settings (including home visiting) within the Canterbury District providing 1 : 1 and group support to young children and their families.
Responsible for supporting improvements in outcomes for children through leading the delivery of play and learning opportunities across Family Hub sites, family homes, other community settings and outreach locations.
The post holder will be expected to operate a Whole Family approach in their practice and work around the times of the family. As such, this post will be expected to work flexibly including, on occasions, at evening and weekends, and will be coordinated by Management as required.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English / Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description / Person Specification.
