The Information Assistant within Clinical Coding will provide support to Clinical Coding manager by compiling staff worklists and generating coding reports for distribution to acute sites management teams. You will be responsible for training new staff and ongoing support of current clinical coders and you will also be expected to contribute toward achieving 95% target.
You will have knowledge of patient journey (ADT) and interaction with other specialities. It is expected you will also possess good understanding of OPCS4 and ICD10 classifications, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, as this will be used on a regular basis within the role.

What we'll need you to bring
- Educated to HNC level, with a high numerical and statistical content and further skills gained through a mixture of experience and internal formal training
- Experience working in an information / statistics environment with prior NHS experience an advantage
- A specialist knowledge and experience of application of NHS data definitions, information standards and policies is required
- Effective and sure communication skills are required to present, advise on analyses and implications; provide instruction and guidance on procedures and standards
- An ability to identify and resolve straightforward technical and organisational obstacles to the information production process is required
- Planning and organising of own workload is required to manage requirements of mandatory routine with non-routine requests and participation in short-term and ongoing internal and external working groups

Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in Clinical Coding within University Hospital Wishaw. The working pattern for this role Monday to Friday between hours of 08 : 00-18 : 00, however flexible working hours are available with a blended approach to working from office and WFH.
