Project Manager - Clean Water Network OperationsWe are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee and manage clean water network operations projects. Our client, a leading provider of design, manufacturing, and maintenance services for water infrastructure projects, is dedicated to excellence and safety in delivering outstanding results for their clients.The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering projects from inception to completion. They will drive efficiencies to reduce leakage, unaccounted water, and customer impact while supporting programmes for ongoing repairs and maintenance on the clean water network infrastructure.This role requires excellent commercial, people, and organisational skills to ensure successful project completion on time, within budget, and in accordance with regulatory requirements and client standards. The Project Manager will also handle project bidding and tendering, budgeting, and cost control.Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and resource allocation, managing the project lifecycle whilst adhering to project management methodologies.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to identify project requirements, KPIs, and constraints, ensuring project milestones and internal and external quality standards are met.
- Prepare and participate in project bidding and tender processes, including contract negotiation, terms review, and quote submissions.
- Monitor project costs, track budget utilisation, and implement cost control measures.
- Produce client-ready project risk assessments and method statements, followed by team project briefings.
- Collaborate with technical and field teams to ensure seamless project execution and foster a positive team culture, motivating and empowering team members to achieve a safe and successful outcome.
- Build client relations and lead / attend regular project pre-start and progress meetings / calls, providing updates to stakeholders and post-project debriefs.
- Prepare and present project reports, including progress updates and budget analysis to the leadership and finance team.
- Identify and provide both planned and reactive solutions to programme changes and anomalies, capitalising on opportunities to work smarter and drive efficiencies.
- Monitor project risks and assist in implementing risk mitigation strategies.
- Manage contracts with external resources, including suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ensure complete compliance with company, client, and industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in clean water network operations.
- Participate in Duty Manager responsibilities on a 1 in 7 week rota for out-of-hours calls and queries.
- Line Management duties, including annual and mid-year appraisals, setting objectives, and encouraging a positive work culture.Skills and Qualifications :
- HNC / degree in engineering, project management, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in the utilities industry
- Knowledge of water distribution networks and relevant regulations (desired)
- Proficiency in project management methodologies
- Excellent leadership and team engagement skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
