About Our Client

The client are a huge hotel business that are located in the West End of London (Oxford Circus). The finance team is made up of about 10 people and they are looking for a Junior Accounts Payable Clerk to join the team and help manage the end-to-end purchase ledger with another person. There is a wealth of progression within the team, they have a great company culture and are keen to get a progressive candidate in the role so that they can build a career in finance.

Job Description

The successful Junior Accounts Payable Clerk will :

• Receive, review, and process a high volume of PL invoices accurately.
• Code and enter invoices into the system.
• Communicate with suppliers to resolve any issues and negotiate payment terms.
• Prepare and process the payment runs on a weekly basis.
• Reconcile payment transactions and manage schedules.
• Review and reconcile employee expense reports, as well as processing of the staff expenses.
• Maintain organised accounts payable files.
• Assist in month-end closing activities.
• Generate accounts payable reports for analysis.
• Ad hoc work.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Junior Accounts Payable Clerk will :

• Have an Accounting and Finance (or equivalent) degree.
• 6-12 months of prior finance and accounting experience in a similar company ideally (hospitality experience is not essential, but highly desired)
• Basic accounting knowledge of debits and credits.
• Proficient in Excel and accounting software (V-lookups, Pivot Tables etc.)
• Attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Eagerness to learn and grow in the finance / accounting field.
