BBS Recruitment is an independent recruitment agency for the transport and logistics sector, supplying to a variety of clients across London, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. We also recruit for Social Care and Public Sector roles.We are currently recruiting for an experienced Activities Coordinator for our client based in Walthamstow and surounding areas.The successful Activities Coordinator will be responsible for delivering a programme of thoughtfully designed activities and events that promote social interaction and independence for elderly residents.Through careful assessment of each resident’s individual needs and abilities the Activities Coordinator will design and lead group and one-to-one activities which enhance quality of life for each resident.Duties and Responsibilities for a Activities Coordinator :
- Arrange appropriate activities and entertainment
- Co-ordinate birthday and special celebrations for all residents.
- Assess and meet individual residents’ needs through leading group activities within and outside the home.
- Being inclusive, forward thinking, creative and delivering activities and occupations that meet and caters for residents’ preferences.
- Liaise with staff / managers on matters regarding resident care and social needs.
- Transport residents to external activities, driving the company minibus.
- Plan and provide exercise / movement to music sessions in the home.
- Arrange trips for residents
- Review and keep up to date the relevant resident records, assessing resident enjoyment and preferences and the effectiveness of activity.
- Maintain and update communications within the home which promote and celebrate social activity.
- Involve in the home celebrations – Easter, BBQ, Tea parties and other national / international eventsWorking Hours :
- Tuesday to Saturday
- 2 sessions a day (AM – 10am to 12noon & PM – 2 to 4pm)Requirements for Activities Coordinator :
- Enhanced DBS Check
- Excellent Communication Skills
