Here at Nurse Seekers we are proud to be recruiting an experienced Early Years Teacher for a well-established privately-owned Nursery and Pre-school based near Archway, London. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced teacher to shape pedagogy within their setting, and maintain the excellent standard of early years education we offer.
This quality setting is looking for a creative and innovative teacher who has a passion for learning to join their dedicated Pre-School classroom that has class sizes of approximately 16 children, aged 3 to 5 years. The setting is very well resourced and one of its outdoor spaces is used solely for the use of the preschool room which offers a range of opportunities for exploration, investigation and play.
The successful Early Years Teacher must hold a full and relevant QTS or EYTS recognised qualification and have an excellent command of written and spoken English.
Key Outline Of This Role
- The role involves leading pedagogy in the setting; planning and implementing a curriculum based on the EYFS (utilising Birth to 5 Matters guidance) which supports children's learning and development.
- The teacher works within a small teaching team which includes two Early Years Practitioners and a member of support staff.
- You will be responsible for working with your team as well as senior members of staff across the setting to ensure effective implementation of our play-based, child-led curriculum throughout the nursery.
- In addition to planning and directing sessions in our dedicated teaching room, responsibilities may include attending weekly planning meetings, assisting with INSET training days, maintaining children's folders, one-to-one reading, carrying out children's observations and writing transfer records.
- The teacher will also be expected to assist practitioners in reflecting on practice, promote robust and appropriate pedagogical approaches, and encourage sustained shared thinking between adults and children.
