Overhead Crane Engineer
Location : UK-based with travel across the UK and mainland Europe
Contract Type : Full-time, Permanent
Salary : £43,600 - £48,600 (Basic) + Overtime and Benefits
Role Overview :
Our client, a leading company in the industrial equipment sector, is seeking 2-3 Overhead Crane Engineers to join their expanding team. Ideal candidates will possess expertise in electrical and mechanical disciplines with a strong focus on multi-skilled engineering. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals looking to work in a dynamic environment with opportunities for travel.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct maintenance, servicing, and repair of overhead cranes and associated equipment.
- Fault-finding on electrical panels, wiring and PLC’s.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical faults.
- Travel to client sites across the UK and mainland Europe, with occasional extended trips of 2-3 weeks (planned well in advance).
- Perform 1-2 overnight stays near customer sites during the week when required, but most nights will be spent at home.
- Work in challenging environments, including bunker halls (waste, wood chip, and ash).
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and company standards.
What’s on Offer :
Basic Salary : £43,600 - £48,600 per annum.
Overtime Rates :
Time x1.5 for work beyond 40 hours / week and Saturdays.
Double time for Sunday work.
Hardship Allowance : 1 hour's pay for working in unfavourable environments.
Benefits Package :
25 days annual leave, increasing by 1 day per year of service (max 30) + bank holidays.
Sickness Pay : 1 week from the start date, increasing by 1 week per year of service (max 6 weeks).
Fully equipped company van, phone, and laptop provided.
Door-to-door pay for travel.
Ideal Candidate : Qualifications :
Relevant electrical or mechanical engineering qualifications (HNC / HND, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent).
Experience in servicing and maintaining overhead cranes or similar equipment.
Skills and Experience :
Multi-discipline expertise with a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to travel across the UK and mainland Europe.
Flexibility to work away for 2-3 weeks occasionally (with prior notice).
