Building Surveyor – Client Side Opportunity
Location : Covering Greater Manchester (Base in Preston)
Salary : £30,000 to £40,000 plus company car
Type : Full-time, Permanent
A rare opportunity has come up for a Building Surveyor to move client side with a privately owned property company that has been active in the UK for several decades. This is a full-time permanent role focused on the ongoing maintenance, compliance and improvement of a well-established commercial property portfolio.
The role offers a clear step away from the typical consultancy environment, with the chance to take more responsibility across a defined group of assets. You’ll be working closely with an experienced property team, contributing directly to the long-term management and presentation of a broad mix of sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting regular inspections and identifying repair and maintenance requirements
- Managing planned and reactive works across multiple sites
- Overseeing refurbishment projects and liaising with contractors
- Supporting health and safety compliance and statutory checks
- Preparing maintenance schedules and assisting with cost control
- Liaising with tenants on property-related issues and lease obligations
What We’re Looking For
Who This Would Suit
This role would be ideal for a Building Surveyor with experience in property maintenance, refurbishment, and project management. Candidates from housing associations, local authorities, or similar environments would be well-suited. A chartered qualification is not required, but relevant experience is essential.
This is a hands on and varied role where you will have the autonomy to manage your own workload and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the property portfolio. If moving client side has been on your radar, this is a great opportunity to make that transition as roles like this do not come around often.
