As part of its continued investment and growth, the company is establishing a dedicated specialist controls department and is looking to appoint a Control Systems Engineer to be a key part of this strategic initiative.This is an exciting opportunity to join a business that is forward-thinking, highly innovative, and committed to delivering best-in-class performance across its operations. You’ll be instrumental in shaping the future of automation and control systems within the site.Key Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and optimise PLC, SCADA, and HMI control systems across a variety of manufacturing processes.
- Lead and support automation and controls-related projects, from concept through to commissioning.
- Work collaboratively with engineering, production, and external integrators to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Troubleshoot complex automation issues and implement long-term fixes to reduce downtime.
- Maintain and develop documentation, software backups, and system architecture records.
- Drive standardisation and best practices across controls and automation platforms.Requirements :
- HND / HNC or equivalent in Electrical, Automation, Control Systems, or related engineering discipline.
- Extensive experience working as a Control Systems Engineer within FMCG or food manufacturing.
- Proficient in programming and fault-finding across Siemens, Allen Bradley, or similar PLC platforms.
- Strong understanding of SCADA / HMI development, industrial networks, and process instrumentation.
- Ability to work independently and take the technical lead on control systems improvement projects.
