Job Description
Ever thought of joining us at Career Connect?
We are looking to recruit a Trainee Careers Adviser to join our friendly community team in Manchester.
Trainee Careers Advisers are paid on a starting salary of : £26,262 per annum which will increase with successful completion of your 6 month probationary period and again once you have completed your qualification with us.
You will become part of a team that engages and provides careers support to 16–18-year-olds who are not in education, employment or training (NEET), helping them to identify their career ambitions and move into fulfilling training and employment opportunities.
This varied, interesting and rewarding role will be based at our office at The Millennium Powerhouse in Moss Side though you will work flexibly in venues in the community across Manchester.
Career Connect is a charity with over 20 years’ experience in the Careers industry, making a huge difference to the lives of young people, adults and families by providing support services that help them turn career ambitions into reality. We believe in a society where every individual realises their full potential and we aim to drive social mobility by enabling more people to access and succeed in education, training and employment.
We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic individual who can build meaningful relationships with young people, helping them understand their career skills and strengths, overcome personal barriers and create a better future for themselves. We offer a friendly, supportive working environment among colleagues who care about the work we do and the communities that we support.
You will join our team in the work that we do across the city and work closely with colleagues in partner organisations to help improve outcomes for young people. This will involve direct contact with young people, their parents / carers, and a range of professionals from support services, training providers and employers across the city, so excellent communication skills are essential, as are effective time management and the ability to travel independently.
To become a Trainee Careers Adviser, you must hold a relevant degree or equivalent qualification and have relevant experience.
Our full time staff work 35-hour week and we have great benefits and plenty of opportunities for staff training and internal progression.
Our holidays start at 25 days + Bank Holidays. We give an extra 6 days a year for staff with longer service and everyone gets the day off on their birthday. We pay for mileage that is beyond your main base of work. We offer eye care vouchers, cycle scheme, electric car scheme, travel loans and much more.
