Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Children's Residential Support Worker to join Stoke on Trent City Council on an initial 3 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working various shift patterns.The Role :

• Provide day-to-day care and emotional support for young people, following individual care and therapeutic plans.
• Develop meaningful relationships with children and create a safe, nurturing environment.
• Promote education, social inclusion, and life skills to help young people achieve their full potential.
• Encourage positive behaviour and support young people in managing challenges.
• Assist with household duties, meal preparation, and maintaining a safe and welcoming home environment.
• Work collaboratively with families, social workers, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for young people.
• Support children to engage in the community, hobbies, and activities that promote their well-being.
• Safeguard young people by following all relevant policies, reporting concerns, and managing risks.
• Contribute to care planning, record-keeping, and attending meetings related to the young person’s progress.
• Promote independence skills to prepare young people for adulthood.Requirements :
• Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a residential, care, or support setting.
• A caring, patient, and resilient nature, with the ability to manage challenging situations.
