The Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) is the largest police service in the country, handling 13,000 calls per day. Our phones are managed 24 / 7 / 365 by a 2,000-strong team called Met Command & Control (MetCC) – and that’s where you come in. In this key role, you’ll make sure we have enough staff to deal with calls and interactions at all times. Join us and you’ll be helping MPS do its best for London, each and every day.
With 2,000 people split between three sites in London, MetCC is the largest police Command & Control centre in the UK. Your task is to plan the staffing needs of this extensive workforce, now and in the future, as part of a dedicated and organised team.
Day to day, you’ll be dealing with queries from officers and staff about their duties; updating workforce manager systems; and escalating short to mid-term resourcing issues. You’ll also forecast long-term requirements and process complex change requests.
To keep MetCC staffed as necessary, you’ll need to be a critical and analytical thinker, who can work both independently and as part of a team. You’ll also be comfortable presenting thanks to your strong communication skills.
Ideally, you’ll have a passion for technology plus computer literacy skills (particularly Microsoft Excel). This will help you handle data and come up with innovative solutions.
In return for your skills and effort, we can offer excellent career development, a highly rewarding role and a competitive salary, which includes an additional 12.5% Shift Disturbance Allowance and enhanced rates for working weekends (approximately one per month).
