Reporting to the Operations Director, the HSE Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily HSE activities while ensuring full compliance across the site.As the Health, Safety and Environmental Manager will be getting involved inChampion EHS Awareness : Foster a proactive safety culture by ensuring all employees understand and adhere to environmental, health, and safety proceduresDrive Compliance & Best Practices : Develop and implement EHS management systems aligned with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirementsStay Ahead of Regulations : Continuously monitor and interpret government EHS laws and company standards, creating systems and programmes to maintain full complianceEnsure Excellence Through Audits : Conduct thorough assessments of policies, procedures, and job instructions to uphold the highest level of health & safety standardsLead Audit Processes : Facilitate both internal and external EHS audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure complianceMaintain a Safe Workplace : Carry out regular inspections, promptly addressing non-compliance issues and eliminating unsafe practicesCollaborate & Innovate : Engage with other sites and external organisations to adopt the most effective methods for risk and hazard controlManage EHS Budget : Oversee EHS-related expenditure, ensuring alignment with financial plans while maintaining high safety standardsInvestigate & Prevent Incidents : Lead thorough accident and incident investigations, identifying root causes, implementing corrective actions, and updating procedures to prevent recurrenceSkills and experience required : A proven track record in Health & Safety roles within the manufacturing sectorExperience in managing environmental systems would be preferred but not essentialGood knowledge and experience in working with OHSAS18001Ambitious and driven in characterPrevious experience in similar roles such as H&S Manager / HSE Manager / Health, Safety and Environmental Manager or candidates with strong experience at a H&S Officer or HSE Advisor level who are ready to move up into a management position with site responsibility will be considered.The application process : Our mission is to support our clients in their creation of an equal, diverse and inclusive workforce.
