Location : North London
Salary : £50,000- £55,000

About the Role :
We are currently seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join a leading social housing provider. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the safety, compliance, and quality of housing stock, directly improving living conditions for tenants.
As a Building Surveyor , you will be responsible for conducting property inspections, identifying defects, and recommending necessary remedial works. You will work closely with maintenance teams, contractors, and housing officers to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions for residential properties.
Key Responsibilities :
Carry out detailed inspections of social housing properties to assess condition and compliance.
Identify and diagnose building defects and recommend appropriate repairs.
Oversee planned and reactive maintenance projects, ensuring work is completed to a high standard.
Provide technical expertise on building pathology, damp, disrepair, and structural issues.
Manage contractor performance, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Prepare reports, specifications, and schedules of work.
Liaise with residents, ensuring excellent customer service and communication.
Requirements :
Degree or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying, Construction, or a related field .
Experience in social housing, local authority, or similar environments.
Strong knowledge of building regulations, compliance standards, and health & safety legislation.
Ability to assess defects, produce technical reports, and oversee maintenance projects.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Full UK driving licence.
