Job description

Responsibilities

Support together with engineering and system design delivery, collaborating with other SMEs. Contribute to technical interactions with the end customer
Generation of detailed specifications, high-quality design documentation and other technical deliverables. Through working closely with peers to aid engineering change to systems applying control via adherence to processes
Participate in requirements management, justification, and decomposition. Including the decomposition of interfaces and studies between systems, sub systems and functions
Support development, building, test and trialling of solutions and participating in Validation, Verification, Test and Acceptance activities
Supporting Operational Engineering teams with in-service systems, troubleshoot technical faults and problem management

Qualifications

Degree or HNC / HND or equivalent in Telecommunications or Electronic Engineering.

A lower-level qualification may be acceptable with significant demonstrable relevant experience performing the same / similar work

Essential skills

Creation of solutions and problem solving in accordance with customer requirements

Able to adapt to a constantly changing environment

Team player but equally capable of working on their own

Great communication skills

Attention to detail

Management of self and workload ensuring on time delivery

Accomplished using Microsoft Office suite

Desired skills

Voice and data comms technologies and protocols such as SIP / RTP, ED-137, serial, IP, TDM

Military communications systems experience

RF transmission & reception systems

Knowledge of UK MoD security (JSP 604), practices and ways of working

Software & Hardware integration experience

Lifecycle engineering experience including System of System

Experience

Must have :

Minimum of 5 years (10 preferred) demonstrable relevant experience

Experience or transferable knowledge from similar systems (any of below);Voice and data traffic handlingNetwork switching systemsVCCS (Voice Communications Control System)ICCS (Integrated Communications Control System)

System development and / or application of engineering change experience

Awareness in application of Baseband technologies

What do I need before I apply

Candidate should be able / prepared to work at our client’s site in Bristol or Harrogate Hybrid (75% site attendance)

Must hold or be able to obtain SC clearance with the willingness / ability to gain DV clearance

Due to security restrictions candidates must be UK National

Willingness for occasional travel to other sites
