Position : Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (Behaviour Support) Start Date : January 2025 Location : Oldham Contract Type : Full-time, Permanent Salary : £85 - £100Are you an experienced Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with expertise in behaviour management? A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Oldham is seeking a skilled and dedicated professional to join their team in January 2025. This role focuses on supporting students with behavioural needs, ensuring they receive the guidance and strategies required to succeed academically and socially. The school is passionate about fostering a positive and inclusive environment where all students feel valued and supported, making it the perfect opportunity for a driven HLTA ready to make a difference.Key Responsibilities : As a Behaviour Support HLTA, you will : Deliver tailored interventions to support students with behavioural challenges, both in small groups and one-to-one.Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, and SEN staff to implement individual behaviour plans.Foster a positive and structured learning environment, promoting self-regulation and mutual respect.Provide classroom support to ensure smooth lesson delivery and manage behavioural incidents effectively.Contribute to the development and delivery of behaviour management strategies across the school.Support the professional development of other staff by sharing effective practices for behaviour management.Key Requirements : The ideal candidate will : Hold HLTA status or an equivalent qualification.Have significant experience supporting students with behavioural or emotional needs in an educational setting.Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and de-escalation skills, with a calm and empathetic approach.Be passionate about improving outcomes for students with additional needs.Have strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt to different situations.Possess an enhanced DBS check on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
