Jewish Care’s services are at the heart of changing people’s lives for the better. We aim to ensure that our Residents lead meaningful lives.
The role of Activities Assistant provides the residents with a range of stimulating recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities, which are client centred, age appropriate and are in keeping with Jewish Care’s philosophy of care. Supporting residents in leading as independent a life as possible in a caring and supportive atmosphere, whilst ensuring that dignity is maintained.
Working in consultation with residents, families and colleagues to develop and implement a programme of stimulating activities, including outings, that will meet the social, physical, emotional, and cultural needs of residents and enable them to lead as full a life as possible.
This post is working 24 hours per week Monday to Friday with extra hours available on weekends during festivals, and is fixed term for 12 months.
What you’ll be doing :
- Determining and maintaining agreed standards of social care to meet the needs of each resident, using a person-centred planned programme of care for each resident to promote meaningful lives.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities.
- Encouraging residents to maintain their links with the Jewish community and to participate in social and recreational events outside the home.
- Involving the community in the home and the residents in the life of the community.
- Managing volunteers, who assist with activities and outings, ensuring a supportive and appropriate framework is managed and maintained.
What you’ll bring to Jewish Care :
