Teaching Assistant – SEMH (Secondary)
Location : Ellesmere Port
Full-Time | Immediate Start Available
A specialist secondary school in Ellesmere Port is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school is committed to delivering exceptional education and care for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs , and prides itself on fostering a nurturing and supportive environment where young people can thrive both academically and personally.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting students’ educational and emotional development , working closely with teaching staff and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Support teachers in delivering tailored lessons and interventions .
- Provide one-to-one or small group support , helping students stay engaged and make progress.
- Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies .
- Help to maintain a calm, structured classroom environment , using effective de-escalation techniques .
- Track and monitor student progress, offering regular feedback to staff.
- Collaborate with staff, parents, and external professionals to support each student’s holistic development .
- Participate in relevant training and CPD opportunities to enhance your skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
