Recruitment Profile
Scottish Borders Council are looking to recruit a highly motivated, qualified Social Work Team Leader to lead provision of good outcomes for children and young people in kinship care. The Kinship Care team is a newly created team which works with kinship carers and the children they care for from assessment through to on-going emotional, practical and financial support. The team is centrally based in Galashiels and works with kinship carers throughout the Scottish Borders and those placed out with the local authority area. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop our Kinship Care from its beginning.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and positive person with strong leadership skills to join our team. You will work alongside Team Leaders from our other social work teams in a supportive and positive environment.

We are looking for applicants with a sound value base, excellent communication and report writing skills who have a wide range of knowledge and understanding of supporting children, families and carers in complex situations. It is essential that you have knowledge of Children and Families social work legislation, roles and responsibilities and are able to work well under pressure and be able to manage competing demands including supporting staff through high quality supervision and ensuring we consistently provide high quality support and interventions with children, families and carers.

Essential
Diploma Social Work / CQSW / CSS.
Registration with SSSC.
A minimum of 2 years experience of working with in Children and their families social work setting.
A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post.
