Calling all Principal Ecologists!

Do you want the opportunity to work with a leading Local Authority in Environment , who have recently won a Planning Excellent Award for an exciting project in 2024 ?

You’re in luck! This local authority is looking for a Principal Ecologist to come in and work on their more complex planning applications.

This will include change of use of land / buildings (especially farm related) to generate Nutrient Neutrality , as well as strategic major applications.

You will have the responsibility of representing the Natural Environment Service / Ecology at Planning appeal hearings and co-ordinating / proofing written representations.

The suitable Ecologist will have experience with HRA’s and developing strategic approach to BNG.

Have experience with some of the above but not all?

That isn’t a deal breaker for our client!

Local Authority experience is desired but they would also consider a Principal Ecologist with a private sector background who is keen to make a difference in the public sector .

If you’re looking for a secure contract, this role is an initial 6 month contract – extremely likely to roll on.

With it being a bespoke role, the council are very open to hourly rates .
