Chippindale Plant is one of the largest privately owned plant hire and sales companies in the North of England with 8 depots including Catterick. Established in 1949, it provides a complete hire and sales service for a wide range of Construction Plant, Tools, Excavator Attachments and Secure Site Accommodation.Responsible for visiting customer sites inspecting machinery and equipment and ensuring it is safe for use by repairing and maintaining them, undertaking servicing and maintenance often using specialist equipment.The job is mainly site based but you would be required to work in the depot when required. A full license is a must and the ability to tow a trailer will be an advantage. This position comes with a fully equipped van and the successful candidate will need to have NVQ level 3 plant / vehicle qualifications.Duties include : -
Inspecting machines for defects-
Servicing and maintenance-
Undertaking routine inspections of various equipment-
Dismantling and repairing or replacing fault components-
Reassembling and testing components to ensure they are working safely-
Performing checks on new equipment before first use-
Using reports to diagnose faults-
Updating service records-
Escalating faults to managers-
Use of a wide range of specialist tools such as hydraulic presses-
Keeping the workshop area clean and tidy-
Follow all H&S procedures-
Basic welding-
Using lifting equipment in accordance with LOLER regulations
