The Pond Guys are a well-established and forward-thinking local business, dealing with domestic and commercial ponds and water features. We provide construction, refurbishment and maintenance services to a very high standard. To satisfy the needs of our ever-increasing client base, we are currently looking to increase our team, seeking enthusiastic, self motivated individuals for the following position :

Pond Maintenance Engineer

What you need :

• A good knowledge of ponds and fish, coupled with an understanding of associated filtration systems, ranging from box or pressurised filtration through to drum filters and specialised koi systems.
• A full UK driving license. (This is non-negotiable). Our service area regularly covers Surrey, Sussex, Kent and London, with occasional work further afield, therefore the role will include a good amount of travel in a provided company van.
• Fishkeeping experience is an absolute necessity, either as a passionate hobbyist or previously working in the trade. The right attitude and ability to perform well practically will also be paramount, as well as an active passion and interest for outdoor fishkeeping. Necessary training will be given to the right candidate. We strive to offer a friendly, professional service and therefore an outgoing, happy personality will be ideal for this role.
• Must be reliable and able to self motivate as this is mainly a lone working role.
• To work efficiently in an organised manner to complete tasks on time and to the highest of standards.
• To be reactive to challenges with a good problem solving mindset.
• A flexible approach to work, there will be the necessity that occasionally requires you to assist in other parts of the business - we deal with anything that has ornamental fish in it!
• You must be customer focused and courteous, communicate clearly and always look to exceed the client's expectations.
• Undertake necessary paperwork full, efficiently and to time.

What would be beneficial :

Knowledge of fish behaviour and health.

Experience of pond filtration and systems.

Knowledge of pond systems construction, to help with solving problems.

Knowledge of pond plants.

Prior trade experience in an aquatic retail environment or pond servicing.

What you do :

Provide solutions to pond and fishing problems.

Liaise with clients confidently and clearly.

Service ponds, pumping and filtration equipment.

Carry out monthly / regular maintenance programmes.

Undertake regular maintenance procedures.

Salary between £28,000.00 and £30,000.00 dependent on experience.
