Are you an experienced tutor with a passion for supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Tutor to work with students in the Bicester area, supporting those experiencing challenges such as low confidence, anxiety, EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance), and school refusal. If you have the experience and skills to assess, plan, and deliver a tailored scheme of work that meets the individual needs of students, this could be the perfect role for you.
As an SEMH Tutor, you will play a key role in providing students with the support they need to regain confidence, engage with learning, and overcome emotional barriers that impact their education.
Key Responsibilities :
Assess students' emotional and educational needs to create individual learning plans.
Plan and deliver personalised tuition sessions that address the specific needs of students with SEMH challenges.
Develop strategies and approaches to build students’ confidence, reduce anxiety, and support their engagement with learning.
Provide a safe, understanding, and non-judgmental environment that encourages students to thrive.
Monitor progress regularly and adjust teaching methods as needed.
Collaborate with parents, carers, and other professionals to provide holistic support.
Requirements :
Experience working with students who have SEMH needs , particularly in supporting students with low confidence , anxiety , EBSA , and school refusal .
Proven ability to assess , plan , and deliver tailored educational sessions.
Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
A patient, adaptable, and creative approach to tutoring.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., in Education, Psychology, or SEN-related fields) are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
