What is “Electronic Monitoring”?
Electronic Monitoring is the use of Radio Frequency technology to monitor an individual's compliance with an order imposed upon them by an issuing authority such as a Sheriff Court.
Individuals who are subject to Electronic Monitor will wear a monitoring device commonly referred to as a “Tag” and have a further monitoring device installed within their premises.
G4S, an allied universal company, is the Electronic Monitoring Service Provider for Scotland. G4S instals the equipment, monitors individual’s compliance and reports any non-compliance to the relevant authority.
What does the role entail?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Control Room Operator to join our team. The role is fixed term for 1 year with the opportunity to become permanent after 1 year of continuous employment. Full time and part time hours available, shift working, based at Duart House, Bellshill, Scotland ML4 3PR. The role is to deliver high quality, professional monitoring in accordance with the policies and procedures as agreed with the Scottish Government. In return, you will receive a salary of £25,322.73 per annum based on full time 38 hrs (£12.78 per hr), 28 days holiday, entry into a contributory pension scheme and free £1 per hour will paid as a shift allowance.
Shift Patterns
Full-Time
Monday to Friday Nightshift : 22.00 - 06.00
Monday to Friday Backshift 18.00 - 02.00
Part-Time
Weekend Nightshift : Saturday & Sunday 18.00 - 06.00
Weekend Dayshift : Saturday & Sunday 06.00 - 18.00

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities for the Control Room Operator are :
Point of contact for Monitored Person’s who are subject to Electronic Monitoring
Monitoring Compliance of Monitored Person’s and reporting any incidents of non-compliance to the appropriate agency
Liaising with various partner agencies such as Justice Social Work, Police Scotland, Hospitals and the Scottish Prison Service
Use of google drive, google sheets and information management software to document actions and produce reports
Making outbound calls to Monitored Person’s and Partner Agencies as well as receiving incoming Calls

Please note, this role does not qualify for a visa under the current Government guidelines therefore to be considered for this role you must already have the right to work in the UK. Re-location costs will not be granted. You must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the National Monitoring Centre in Bellshill.
