About you : As part of the Engineering team, the role of the Senior Java Engineer will be to design, implement and maintain features in our world-class accounts payable solution.The Product : Lightyear is the fastest growing fintech in Northern Ireland, streamlining accounts payable solutions on its innovative cloud-based product since 2018. Working across all major regions and various industries worldwide, it’s our People who drive our success. Day-to-day, you will :

• Design, implement, and maintain highly performant and scalable solutions while ensuring code quality and high output within the team.
• Collaborate with engineers, QA, and Product teams across the company; mentor team members, providing training, development, and support.
• Participate in recruitment efforts and contribute to the growth and development of a dynamic team, influencing software engineering processes.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including Data Protection, Equal Opportunities, and Health and Safety standards. Your skills and experiences might also include :
• Extensive experience with Java (4+ years), including REST API design and build, and familiarity with the Spring Framework.
• Proficient in SQL, particularly PostgreSQL, and knowledgeable in DevOps practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Skilled in mentoring junior developers and proficient with Python and Maven. What are we all about?
