Robert HalfStafford, GBRobert Half is recruiting for a Financial Controller to join a organisation based in Stafford. This is a newly created role and is ideal for someone looking to join, make changes and add value.
This is a newly created role and will be the first qualified accountant in the business. The new role of Finance Controller will initially report directly to the MD and will have a team of 5.
The Financial Controller will have to work closely with the MD of the company and will play an important role in the accounting, reporting and management activities of the business. This is a varied role with a key focus on standardising group reporting, delivering detailed accounting information on a regular basis and helping the local teams accurately forecast their results.
Salary - £70,000 - £80,000
Key responsibilities include :
- Management of the budget process
- Producing monthly management accounts in line with Group timescales.
- Working capital management including weekly cashflow forecasts.
- Maintaining Balance Sheet controls and reconciliations
- Assist the MD in presenting management accounts and other financial information at the monthly board meetings.
- Manage the year end audit process.
- Analyse the project Cost Valuation Reporting and challenge where necessary.
- Train, motivate and evaluate team members, create development and succession plans.
- Identifying process improvement opportunities and implementing new processes.
- To act as a business partner between Finance and other departments to ensure consistent and joined up ways of working.
- Review and sign off payroll.
- To ensure compliance with any statutory returns that arise. E.g. VAT, CIS, PAYE
- Enforces, documents and establishes adequate controls for all areas of responsibility.
- Other ad hoc projects as and when required by the MD or group finance
