Responsibilities :
The Communications Strategist at Grace Community Church develops and executes communication strategies to support church-wide initiatives, events, and digital marketing. The role includes creating authentic copy and communication styles aligned with the church’s mission to reach the unchurched, supporting the creative team in promoting events and campaigns internally and externally.
Key Duties :
- Event Communication :
- Coordinate and facilitate communication for various church events, ensuring clear and timely information reaches the congregation. This includes creating promotional materials, social media plans, and utilizing communication channels.
- Schedule social media posts and emails for related campaigns.
- Oversee and streamline church-wide communication processes, maintaining a consistent strategy to inform members about updates and happenings.
- Create presentation plans for the Creative Director to ensure all assets and promotional materials are prepared.
- Engage with the online community by managing messages, comments, and activity across social media platforms.
- Research and implement digital strategies to reach the unchurched, reflecting Christ’s love through digital channels.
- Collaborate with the Creative Director and ministries to create promotional copy for printed assets, emails, and digital promotion items.
- Stay updated on communication trends and adopt innovative approaches to engage both the church community and outside audiences.
- Conceptualize and produce content for various social media platforms targeting diverse audiences.
- Feedback Mechanism :
- Establish a system to evaluate communication effectiveness, solicit input from the congregation, and adjust strategies accordingly.
Qualifications :
Experience in communication, public relations, or related fields.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency with communication tools and platforms (e.g., Notion, Sprout, Microsoft Suite).Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Understanding of the church environment and a passion for effective communication within the church context.Willingness to learn new processes and platforms.Preferably a bachelor’s degree or relevant experience.This interview process includes an initial call with our HR director, followed by an interview with our Creative Director, a group creative team interview, and a final interview with our leadership team.
