OXBO are delighted to be working with a leading UK based, multi-technology (Solar / BESS / Wind) renewable energy IPP to add a Technical Site Manager to their team in London.
The successful candidate will be the project managers & engineers’ eyes and ears onsite regarding all the quality, technical and commissioning aspects of the construction, across multiple sites simultaneously. They will be involved in the technical follow-up of subcontractors, quality control, compliance, commissioning, testing, and inspecting. The role is a mix of administrative, managerial and technical (on-field) work.
Responsibilities :
- Construction Supervision in collaboration with the construction site manager.
- Resource Management, including material deliveries and equipment availability.
- Inspect completed work, identify defects, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Liaise with other ( subcontractor , client etc.) quality inspectors or engineers for compliance with project specifications.
- Monitor progress and scheduling, ensuring projects are delivered on time.
- Act as the primary (technical) point of contact on-site.
- Communicate site progress, issues, and changes to the project manager / engineering team.
- Ensure that all work complies with local building codes, regulations, and contractual obligations.
- Commissioning and testing of the solar farm and ensure handover to O&M.
Requirements :
Educational Background : A degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, or civil) or proven experience.Certifications : health & safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, SMSTS) are highly valued.Other valuable certifications are SAP-33KV , 18th Edition, Test Engineer , Jointer certificationTechnical Knowledge : Strong understanding of renewable energy systems and their grid integration , specifically solar PV systems and BESS technology.Proven track record in commissioning & managing energy projects, particularly solar PV and BESS installations.Site and contractor management, whilst demonstrating ability to deliver projects on time, up to the desired level of quality, within budget.Stakeholder Coordination : Experience working with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies (DNO’s , IDNO’s etc.).Leadership, problem solving and communication skills.
