Protection and Control (P&C) Commissioning Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Protection and control (P&C) commissioning engineer to join our Power Networks team within our Net Zero Energy Business. This position could be home-based (or based from one of our UK offices in Birmingham, Glasgow, Epsom or Leeds), with site-time across the UK expected.

The UK Energy market is undergoing unprecedented change as the country strives towards a net zero carbon target. The sector must contend with high penetration of modern generation, transmission and distribution technologies, energy storage and prepare for the increased demand associated with the electrification of transport and heat as the countries progresses along the decarbonisation pathway. As part of the Net Zero agenda, networks have a crucial role in delivering the renewable energy which is required to be connected. The transmission network operators have secured c.£8bn as part of the RIIO T2 package.

Your purpose :

• You will be working within our Power Networks team as a P&C commissioning engineer to oversee the installation and commissioning stages of projects and to resolve technical issues at sites.
• You will enjoy trouble-shooting and have a can-do attitude to resolve issues.
