Overview

Technical Analyst – AWS, Data, Cloud, Banking – Permanent – Hybrid, Milton Keynes

A large global organisation are looking for a Technical Analyst to support the delivery of cloud and data-driven initiatives using AWS technologies. You will work across business and technical teams to define requirements, design scalable solutions, and ensure successful implementation of cloud-based analytics and integration projects.

This is a Full Time, Permanent position. The role is based in Milton Keynes, UK, with a hybrid model requiring in-office presence 2–3 days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Requirement Gathering & Analysis : Connect with stakeholders and end-users to gather business needs and translate them into technical specifications and user stories for AWS development.
  • Technical Solution Design : Design and recommend technical solutions that leverage AWS services to solve business challenges, ensuring alignment with business objectives and scalability.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting : Utilise AWS data services and analytics tools to extract, transform, and analyse large datasets, creating dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights; support the integration of new applications and processes with existing AWS infrastructure and services.
  • Cross-Functional Communication : Act as a liaison between business and technical teams to ensure clear communication, alignment, and successful project outcomes.
  • System Monitoring & Support : Monitor the health and performance of AWS-based data sources and pipelines, troubleshoot incidents, and resolve issues within defined SLAs.
  • Documentation : Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for process flows, technical specifications, and solution designs for knowledge transfer and future reference.
  • Process Improvement : Identify inefficiencies in existing business processes and implement technical solutions and automations on AWS to improve operational efficiency and performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical Expertise : Strong understanding of AWS services, particularly in data storage, processing, and analytics (e.g., S3, EC2, Redshift, Glue, Lambda).
  • Data Skills : Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, data manipulation tools, and data visualization techniques.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving : Ability to analyse complex business problems, identify root causes, and derive data-driven insights and solutions.
  • Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly convey complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Business Acumen : Deep understanding of business processes and goals to effectively map requirements to technical solutions.
  • Agile Methodologies : Experience working in agile and fast-paced environments, thriving on ambiguity and tackling unstructured problems.
