Job Description – Health & Safety Officer
We\'re supporting a leading civil engineering contractor with a fantastic opportunity for a Health & Safety Officer to join their permanent team.
Location
Based in Glasgow, covering sites across Central Scotland (significant travel – approx. 4 days / week on site).
Salary
50,000 – £55,000 DOE plus mileage expenses and standard benefits package.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out site inspections across multiple civil engineering projects (heavy civils focus).
- Work closely with site teams to assess issues and provide practical solutions (not an enforcement 2oliceman\u00a0role).
- Liaise with the HSE Manage in Glasgow and wider SHEQ team.
- Support a culture of continuous improvement in health & safety across the business.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, company policies and client standards.
Candidate Profile
Minimum 5 years’ Health & Safety experience within heavy civils.Experience in wind farms, substations, and ideally Scottish Power projects.CertIOSH and NEBOSH qualified (essential).GWO training would be an advantage.Analytical, solution-focused and collaborative approach – able to engage site teams to resolve issues.Full driving licence; comfortable with extensive site travel.This is a brilliant chance to join a contractor with a strong pipeline of work and a reputation for delivering major civils projects across Scotland.
