You will support the council in promoting a positive health and safety culture and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and industry standards.
The Council Health and Safety Team collaborates with various front-line services, including Education, Social Work, Sport and Leisure Centres, Waste Services, Roads, Customer Services, and Community Assets, to support our communities across Dumfries and Galloway.
Two positions are available : a general Health and Safety Officer to support various services, and a Construction-focused Health and Safety Officer to oversee construction and engineering projects.
You will receive support from your colleagues within the health and safety team and the wider organization.
Your responsibilities include providing health and safety advice, working with managers and staff to mitigate risks, conducting site visits, supporting incident investigations, and proactively reviewing health and safety arrangements for continuous improvement.
