Job summary
MY Hospitals Charity islooking for a Funding and Impact Manager to play a key role in driving future development.This individual will take the lead in developing, managing and improving MYHospital Charity's funding of charitable projects and initiatives. There willbe the autonomy to design new processes and creative ways to promote and spendcharitable funds. The role takes a strategic lead in ensuring projects with thegreatest patient benefit are supported, which align with the strategic aims ofMid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. The role is also responsible for ensuringthat all grant making activities appropriately reflect the expectation ofdonors so working closely with individuals, families and partner organisationswill be key.
The Funding and ImpactManager is a new role that has been introduced as part of the growth of thecharity. The individual will report to the Head of Charity and be part of adedicated and passionate charity team. This role is crucial in the charitybeing able to monitor, measure and demonstrate the positive impact it has, andto link the work of the charity to the wider social impact work of the NHSTrust.
As is typical of smallcharities there will be scope to get involved in many other activitiesincluding supporting fundraising activity and supporting the Head of Charity insubmitting funding applications.
Main duties of the job
The Funding and ImpactManager has lead responsibility for developing, managing and improving MYHospital Charity's funding of projects and initiatives, and relatedprocesses and systems. The role takes a lead in ensuring projectswith the greatest patient benefit are supported, which align with the strategicaims of the Trust. The role is also responsible for ensuringthat all grant making activities appropriately reflect the expectation ofdonors whilst meeting charitable aims.
The role requires close working with stakeholders to ensurecharitable funds deliver positive impact. There will belead responsibilityfor gathering and collating data, and developing metrics, to evaluate funding. The role is responsible for demonstrating and showcasingimpact, sharing learning and continually improving the managementof charitable funds. This role will be an ambassador forsocial impact, and link the work of the charity into the Trusts ambitions asan Anchor Institution.
Key to this role is the requirementto actively and effectively promote charitable funding across Mid YorkshireTeaching NHS Trust, liaising with clinicians, management and staff at alllevels to ensure high levels of engagement. This role is themain point of contact for funding enquiries and queries, whilst alsoworking as part of a small charity team and taking on some general charitymanagement tasks and supporting fundraising activity as required, particularly applications to grant-makingorganisations.

Job responsibilities
- Lead responsibility fordeveloping, managing and improving MY Hospitals Charity allocation of funding,including all relevant processes and systems, to ensure they are efficient andeffective, and that projects with the greatest patient benefit are supported.
- Be the main point ofcontact for all grant enquiries and queries. Workwith applicants in a professional and responsive manner.
- Manage and monitor fundingrequests and awards, regularly reviewing progress, ensuring accuraterecord-keeping and reporting on progress.
- Support staff across Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHSTrust to ensure applications are proceeding as required and unblock any issueswith the funding process. Provide an expert service to Trust teams and seniorleaders.
- Develop metrics and manage the evaluation of allgrants to showcase their impact, effectiveness and value. Share learning andfurther improve the grants programme, potentially including the use of animpact framework, supporting the work of Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust inits role as an anchor institution.
- Lead on the potential investment in, anddevelopment of, community projects and initiatives, with a requirement to forgestrong working relationships both internally but also externally with partners.
- Actively promote thegrants programme across Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust, liaising withclinicians, management and staff at all levels to ensure high levels ofunderstanding and engagement.
- Identify and explorenew opportunities for charitable funding in line with Trust and charitystrategic objectives.
- Undertakesome general charity management tasks, and supporting fundraising activity asrequired, particularly drafting funding applications for the charity.
