Are you passionate about improving children's health Join our Respiratory Research team at Sheffield Children's Hospital to manage a project on sleepdisordered breathing in children.

As a Research Project Manager you'll work with a dedicated team of research nurses / officers a consultant and a research physiotherapist. In collaboration with the University of Sheffield you'll manage a clinical device study oversee participant recruitment and consent and ensure the smooth running of the project. You'll also support other research projects.

This role offers a great chance to learn about sleepstudy setup and train parents to manage sleep studies at home.

Main duties of the job

Reporting into the Clinical Trials Unit Manager your responsibilities will include :

  • Manage a clinical device study on sleepdisordered breathing in children
  • Oversee recruitment and consent procedures
  • Ensure smooth project delivery and crosscover with team members
  • Gain training in sleepstudy setup and parent education for home studies
  • Collaborate with the University of Sheffield and contribute to ongoing research projects

    Qualifications and Training Essential

  • Degree or Diploma Level Education as Registered Nurse Midwife AHP or Graduate with degree in subject relevant to clinical research and research experience
  • Have training in or be willing to undertake training in Good Clinical Practice and other relevant courses as required for the conduct of research in the NHS
  • Good understanding and awareness of the National Institute of Health Research and how research in the UK is supported
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Desirable

  • Teaching Mentoring and Assessors qualification
  • Higher level of qualification (MSc / PhD) in a relevant clinical / scientific discipline
  • Training in taking Informed Consent in clinical research
  • Clinical skills : Venepuncture and Cannulation ECG lung function tests etc
  • Experience Essential

  • Significant knowledge of / experience of delivering clinical research studies in the clinical setting and / or considerable exposure to research conducted in the NHS (on wards / theatres / outpatients etc)
  • Significant work experience (or post registration experience where applicable)
  • Recent experience working with patients / children and planning and delivering their care
  • Experience of liaising with and maintaining good working relationships with other health professionals across all clinical disciplines at all levels
