Rotherwood Education are looking to recruit a highly organised, flexible and enthusiastic person with good practical skills to assist a forward-thinking Design & Technology department in a Secondary school in the Haslingden area.This position is set to start ASAP, and it is full-time and ongoing until Easter with the potential to extend until July.The successful Design Technology Technician will :
- Working within the Product Design area (Resistant Materials and Woodwork), candidates will require confidence in using and maintaining a range of specialist tools and equipment.
- Experience of using a range of machinery including Pillar drills, Circular-saw, and Belt sanders is essential, along with the ability to use hand tools.
- You will also be able to follow Policies and Procedures to ensure safety and compliance within the department and be able to prepare materials for the workshop.
- A knowledge of CAD software (Techsoft) would be an advantage but training will be provided.
- Have previous experience in supporting Design Technology departments to KS3 and 4.
- Provide details of last 2 latest references, covering the last 5 years’ work history.
- Possess a current DBS check or be prepared to apply for one as part of your registration.
